Amazon India, the Indian subsidiary of the giant American e-commerce company Amazon, has entered into a strategic partnership with electric vehicle company Zentri for its EV deployment program. Amazon India aims to create a huge fleet of 10,000 electric vehicles for delivery by the year 2025. Amazon India said that under this partnership, Zentri Green Mobility Business will procure and deploy electric vehicles for the e-commerce company in the next 3 years.
The company will also provide fleet management services to DSP
Along with this, Zentri Green Mobility will provide fleet management services to Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) to ensure better operation and maintenance of the EV fleet. Amazon India said that this partnership will give Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) access to more and more electric three-wheelers for Amazon deliveries.
Amazon India aims to strengthen its delivery service partners
Speaking about the company’s plans and objectives, Abhinav Singh, Vice Chairman (Operations), Amazon India, said, “Our goal is to empower our delivery service partners by providing them access to the right electric vehicles, end-to-end vehicle life cycle management services, as well as charging and parking facilities.” Amazon India is currently doing business in around 400 cities across the country.
The company has deployed more than 7,200 electric vehicles by the end of 2023
Abhinav Singh said that Amazon India has deployed more than 7,200 electric vehicles in India by the end of 2023 and is now well on its way to achieving its target of deploying 10,000 electric vehicles in the domestic market by 2025.
