Washington, Aug 14 (IANS) | The iconic One World Trade Center, America’s tallest building standing at the site of the 9/11 terror attacks, is going to become a special place for Indians. The Indian flag will shine its light on this building to commemorate the 75th Independence Day of India. The American Bazaar news outlet on Friday quoted a community organization, the South Asian Engagement Foundation (SAEF), as saying in a statement, “The initiative celebrates India’s entry into the 75th year of independence of the world’s largest democracy. “
As part of the celebrations, other installations of the Dust organization at One Bryant Park and One Five One in New York will also be decorated with the tricolor. “We are proud to partner with the South Asian Engagement Foundation as it enters India’s 75th year of independence,” said Mark Domino of Dust Organization, which oversees Spireworks. “This is a historic moment in the memory of India’s independence and most importantly an expression of the love between America and India,” said Rahul Walia, founding trustee of SAEF.
We look forward to continuing the tradition and enhancing the experience for all with more imagery on the podium. At One World Trade Center, One Bryant Park and the summit of One Five One, the lights will turn on at sunset (New York City time) on August 15 and will remain on until 2 a.m. the following day. Also, the Indian tricolor will be visible on the podium of the World Trade Center. SAEF has encouraged the Indian Diaspora community to come on the platform.
