New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a high-level meeting to discuss the current situation in Bangladesh. This meeting is being held at the Prime Minister’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. According to sources, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and senior officials of the Prime Minister’s Office are present in this meeting. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The military plane of Bangladesh leader Sheikh Hasina, who came to India due to political turmoil in the country, landed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad. Sheikh Hasina has come to India earlier to go to London. According to sources, Foreign Minister Jaishankar apprised Prime Minister Modi about the changing developments in Bangladesh. However, no official information has been given about the meeting yet. Sheikh Hasina has resigned from the post of Prime Minister and now the interim government will take over.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also met Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi at Parliament House and discussed the situation in Bangladesh. According to Congress sources, Rahul Gandhi spoke to the External Affairs Minister on the latest situation in Bangladesh, although detailed information was not given. Amid the ongoing political developments in Bangladesh, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Sheikh Hasina at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad. According to sources, Doval inquired about the immediate situation in Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina arrived at Hindon Airbase at 5.36 pm and is currently staying there. Sources say that she may leave for London soon.
According to Indian government sources, New Delhi is keeping a close watch on the fast-changing developments in Bangladesh. In Dhaka, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman said Sheikh Hasina has resigned as Prime Minister and an interim government will now take over. In his televised address, the army chief said, “I am taking all the responsibility of the country. Please cooperate.”
