Atrocities against Hindus are increasing in Bangladesh
The situation in Bangladesh is not normal. Hindus living there are worried about their lives. Violent protesters are targeting Hindu houses and temples. In such a situation, Hindus there are struggling to come to India. In view of the violent atmosphere, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has issued a helpline number. According to VHP, it has demanded security, compensation for the suffering minorities in Bangladesh and immediate strict action against the extremists.
Minorities are being persecuted in Bangladesh
Minorities in Bangladesh are going through a very challenging time. Minorities there are being targeted. The situation is such that minorities, especially Hindus, have been brutally murdered, tortured and their places of worship, business establishments and homes have been vandalized. Vishwa Hindu Parishad Maharashtra Goa Minister Govind Shende said that the whole country is aware of what is happening in Bangladesh. How atrocities are being committed there. It has been seen for the past few days that Hindus in Bangladesh have awakened. They are also coming out on the streets. We have issued a helpline number for the safety of Hindus living in Bangladesh.
It is our responsibility to make the helpline number available to every Bangladeshi
He further said that this helpline number will bring to the notice of the Indian government the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh. Talks will be held with the central government of India for their assistance. If any relatives of Hindus living in India live in Bangladesh, they can also call on this number and ask for their help. It is also the responsibility of the relatives of Hindus living in Bangladesh to make this number reach Bangladesh in some way or the other. Our effort is to make this number reach every Hindu there.
VHP officials met the Home Minister
Shende said that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad officials have met Home Minister Amit Shah and put this issue before him. Hindus there should be safe, temples should be safe, attacks on minorities should be stopped. All those who have suffered losses or lost their lives or have been looted should be compensated.
The VHP demands
For the restoration of peace and trust between Bangladeshi Hindus and other minorities, VHP demands:-
1. Ensure the safety and welfare of minorities in Bangladesh
2. Compensation should be given to the families of those where a family member has been killed or harmed
3. The guilty persons should be brought to book, prosecuted and punished in accordance with the law
