It is being told that the first case of polio has come to light in this area after 25 years. Infection has been confirmed in a 10-month-old child in Deir al-Balah city. This has also created panic among the scientists of the World Health Organization. Palestinian health officials gave this information.
The Health Ministry said that after the symptoms of polio appeared in the child, tests were conducted which confirmed the infection. This child had not received a single dose of anti-polio vaccine. This infection usually occurs in children under the age of five and spreads through contaminated water etc. Pakistan and Afghanistan are countries where polio infection has never stopped. The World Health Organization (WHO) has not commented on this matter.
The case came after 25 years
A case of polio attack has been reported in Gaza after 25 years. Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Agency (UNICEF) has asked Israel and Hamas to stop the war for seven days so that 6,40,000 Palestinian children can be given polio vaccine.
