The trip will last for four days
Over 5,000 people left for the annual Kheer Bhawani fair in Kashmir from Nagrota in Jammu on Wednesday amid tight security. The yatra will last for four days. Singing hymns and chanting mantras, the devotees left in 176 buses for five religious places in the Kashmir Valley. Officials said the pilgrims will stop at Ramban in the afternoon and have lunch. Strict security measures have been taken for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
We are not afraid of terrorist attacks – devotees
When the devotees who left for the Kheer Bhawani fair were asked about the ongoing terrorist attacks in the state, they said that we are not afraid of these terrorist attacks. How long will we keep being afraid? Mother will protect us. Kasum Pandita, who was going to Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Jagam, said that instead of being afraid, he is excited to participate in the pilgrimage.
80,000 migrant Kashmiri Pandits will arrive
Kheer Bhawani Mela will be celebrated on the occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami on June 14. This fair will be celebrated at Tulmulla in Ganderbal, Tikker in Kupwara, Laktipora Aishmuqam in Anantnag, Mata Tripursundari Devsar in Kulgam and Mata Kheer Bhawani Manzgam in Kulgam. It is believed that about 80,000 migrant Kashmiri Pandits from India and abroad will participate in this fair. (input language)
