New Delhi. As soon as the Lok Sabha elections are over, people have been hit by a double whammy of inflation. On one hand, NHAI has increased toll tax by 5 to 25 rupees at many places. On the other hand, Amul has also increased the price of milk by 2 rupees per liter. Amul milk has become expensive from today. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation announced the increase in the price of Amul milk on Sunday.
Amul milk of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation is sold all over the country. The Federation has informed that from June 3, 2024, the price of all its types of milk is being increased by Rs 2 per liter. After the increase of Rs 2 per liter, now half a liter of Amul Gold milk is available for Rs 33 instead of Rs 32. That is, you will have to pay Rs 66 to buy one liter of Amul Gold milk. At the same time, the price of half a liter pouch of Amul Taza Milk has been made Rs 27 instead of Rs 26. The price of half a liter pouch of Amul Shakti Milk was earlier Rs 29. Now you will get it for Rs 30.
Giving information about the increase in the price of Amul milk, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation says that a price hike of Rs 2 means an increase of 3 to 4 per cent in the maximum selling price i.e. MRP. The federation says that this is less than the average food inflation. The federation, which produces Amul milk, has also said that Amul had not increased the price of milk since February 2023. The statement of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation said that its member unions have also increased the price of milk producers by 6 to 8 per cent. Out of every 1 rupee that the consumer pays for Amul milk, the federation gives 80 paise to the milk producers. The federation says that the increase in the price of Amul milk will help the milk producers to maintain its price and encourage them to produce more milk.
