New Delhi. The Supreme Court has saved TV anchor Rohit Ranjan from coercive action. Rohit Ranjan had applied in the Supreme Court to defend him from several FIRs filed against him, on which the court has given him interim relief. The court, while giving its verdict in this case, said that ‘Rohit cannot be taken into custody till further orders are issued in the case of doctored video’. Let us tell you, Rohit Ranjan was accused of broadcasting Rahul Gandhi’s statement in a wrong context, due to which an FIR was registered against him. In fact, in a program aired on the channel on July 1, Rahul Gandhi’s statement on the vandalism of his office in Kerala was linked to the Udaipur incident. To which the Congress party protested and raised strong objections.
After this, a case was registered against Anchor Rohit by the Chhattisgarh Police and reached Ghaziabad with the intention of arresting him. But here after a long struggle between UP and Chhattisgarh Police, finally the Raipur Police returned. During the hearing in the court, Rohit Ranjan’s lawyer said, ‘This mistake was not done intentionally. For this the channel had withdrawn the show, as well as apologized for its mistake, but despite that the police is constantly following me. On this, the court gave him relief and passed an order not to take him into custody.

On the other hand, a notice has also been issued from UP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh Police and has sought answers. Rohit Ranjan’s lawyer Siddharth Luthra further said that ‘apology has been issued in this matter. Even after this, there is a danger of getting arrested on them. Police from Rajasthan to Chhattisgarh are behind Rohit. At present, he is in the custody of the UP Police.
