Seven Naxalites killed in Narayanpur
Let us tell you that earlier on Thursday, security forces killed seven Naxalites in an encounter in the border areas of Narayanpur and Bijapur districts of Chhattisgarh. Narayanpur district SP Prabhat Kumar said that on the information of the presence of Naxalites in the border area of Narayanpur-Bijapur district, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG), Bastar Fighters and Special Task Force (STF) of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Bastar districts was sent for patrolling on May 21.
Naxalites opened fire during patrol
The SP said that when the team was patrolling in the area at 11 am on Thursday, the Naxalites started firing at them, after which the security forces also retaliated. The encounter between the security forces and the Naxalites continued for a long time. Seven Naxalites were killed in this encounter. Weapons were also recovered from the spot.
More than 100 Naxalites were killed this year
Let us tell you that this year 113 Naxalites have been killed so far in different encounters with security forces in the state. Earlier on May 10, 12 Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur district. On April 30, 10 Naxalites including three women were killed in an encounter with security forces on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts. Apart from this, security forces killed 29 Naxalites in an encounter in Kanker district on April 16.
