iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus
Apple is going to give a big shock to its millions of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus users. The company has announced iOS 18 in the recently held WWDC. In this event, the tech company has also announced its artificial intelligence Apple Intelligence for the first time. With iOS 18, this AI feature is going to be available in Apple’s iPhone. However, the company has not yet confirmed which iPhones will get Apple Intelligence and which will not. According to a new report, Apple’s AI feature will not be available in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus launched last year.
Because of this you will not get AI feature
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo, only the Pro models of the iPhone 15 series will have AI feature. At the same time, the company will not add this feature to both the standard models. Apart from this, there is little hope of getting Apple’s AI feature in the iPhone 14 and older series. The old A16 Bionic chip is available in iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. At the same time, the iPhone 15 Pro models launched last year have A17 Pro Bionic chip, which can support AI feature. Apart from this, both these standard models of the iPhone 15 series have 6GB RAM.
Ming-Chi-Kuo says that Apple AI feature requires A17 Pro Bionic chipset or above premium processor. Also, the device needs 8GB of RAM onboard, which is not available in iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. On the other hand, both the phones of the iPhone 15 Pro series come with A17 Pro chipset, which supports NPU i.e. Neural Processing Unit, which is compatible with complex AI tasks on devices and next gen Siri.
Apple’s AI system is based on the LLM used in OpneAI’s ChatGPT, which requires up to 1.5GB of on-device memory. However, users can get support for Apple AI in all devices of the iPhone 16 series to be launched this year.
