Dr Lalit Tiwari, Professor of Botany Department of DSB College, Nainital, Uttarakhand, tells Local 18 that although the taste of guava is not better than that of apple, it is much better than apple. Guava has high amount of Vitamin A, due to which it gives healthy skin. Also, it is a panacea for curing many diseases.
More iron, magnesium, protein and fiber than apples
Professor Tiwari says that guava has 2.17 times more iron than apple, which also helps in making RBC in the body. Apart from this, guava also has 4.4 times more magnesium than apple, which strengthens muscles and bones. Guava also has 9.81 times more protein than apple, which strengthens the digestive system and gives energy to the body. Apart from this, guava also has 3.4 times more fiber than apple, which gives energy to the body.
Guava is a good source of vitamins
He said that guava contains abundant amounts of vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and E, which maintain energy in the body and also keep the brain healthy. Apart from this, nutrients like calcium, potassium, copper, zinc etc. are found in guava, which are beneficial in diabetes and stomach related diseases.
