Mumbai As the world prepares to welcome 2025, Approach Bollywood, India’s leading Bollywood and entertainment news wire and app, has launched a life-saving campaign against drunk driving in collaboration with renowned spiritual organization Go Spiritual. The campaign named “Aaj Mere Paas Gaadi Hai” is an inspirational message for responsible celebrations and emphasizes the importance of making safe choices in the festive season. The campaign will run across social media platforms till January 1, 2025 and harnesses the power of Bollywood to convey its message. Taking inspiration from the famous film Deewaar, where Amitabh Bachchan’s character proudly says, “Aaj mere paas gadi hai, bangla hai, bank balance hai,” the campaign presents it in a new context: “Yet bhi main nasha karke gadi hai Drives.”
Another famous dialogue in the campaign is “The arm of the law is too long”, which serves as a stark reminder of the legal consequences of drunk driving. This dialogue tells that no one can escape the law and careless behavior can have serious consequences. This message inspires people to behave responsibly. This creative initiative utilizes the cultural influence of Bollywood so that the message deeply reaches the hearts of the audience.
Another memorable example in the campaign is from the film Sholay, where Veeru advises Basanti, “Don’t dance in front of these dogs.” The dialogue has been revamped to convey the message: “Don’t drink, don’t drive and don’t create a scene.”
Sonu Tyagi, renowned writer-director and founder of Approach Entertainment and Go Spiritual, highlights the danger of drunk driving and its increasing incidence during New Year celebrations. He said, “New Year’s Eve is a time of happiness and celebration, but drunk driving makes it one of the most dangerous nights on the road.
Through this campaign, we are trying to spread awareness and promote responsible behaviour. By combining the charm of Bollywood and the social message, we hope to make a lasting impact.”
As Approach Bollywood and Go Spiritual spread the message of “don’t do drugs and don’t drive”, they remind everyone that celebrations should be fun and free from preventable tragedies. With their combined efforts, the campaign aims to inspire a cultural shift towards safer and more conscious celebrations, ensuring that the beginning of 2025 is filled with hope and happiness.
As midnight on December 31 approaches, let us all resolve to make safe choices. A decision not to drink and drive can save countless lives, ensuring that the New Year begins with safety, happiness and responsibility.
