Facts about infertility: The increasing cases of infertility in the country have worried people. In today’s times, a large number of couples are not able to have children and are facing problems. Many couples have to face this problem even at a very young age. Infertility has become a serious problem and people’s wrong habits are playing an important role in increasing this problem. Today we will learn from the doctor what infertility is and how it can be avoided. Along with this, we will also know who is more at risk of infertility.
Dr Sunita Arora, head of the IVF department at Fortis La Femme Hospital in New Delhi, told AnyTV If the age of the couple is less than 35 years and pregnancy is not happening despite continuous sexual intercourse for a year, then it is considered infertility. However, if couples whose age is more than 35 years are not able to conceive despite trying for 6-8 months, then it is considered as infertility. Infertility is treated after examining such couples. Infertility can happen to either a man or a woman, which becomes an obstacle in the happiness of having a child.
Are women at greater risk of infertility?
Dr. Sunita Arora said that at present, both men and women are equally at risk of infertility. If we look at the statistics, infertility is seen in females in 30-35 percent of cases, while the same percentage of men are facing this problem. In such a situation, it would not be right to say that women are at a higher risk of infertility. In today’s era, due to smoking and alcohol consumption, the egg count of women is falling, while due to these habits, the sperm count of men is also decreasing rapidly. Both should avoid these things to avoid infertility.
Many factors are responsible for infertility
According to fertility experts, not only smoking and drinking, but wrong lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits are also having a bad effect on people’s fertility. People are facing infertility due to junk foods, sleeping late at night, spending too much time on computer screen, lack of sleep and pollution in the environment. Excessive stress can also ruin fertility. According to doctors, most of the things can be improved to save fertility and infertility can be avoided.
These diseases can also ruin fertility
Dr. Sunita Arora says that genital tuberculosis is one of the biggest causes of infertility in India. This disease badly affects the uterus, tubes and ovaries of a woman. These are the three major female reproductive organs, which affect fertility. About 20 percent of women can suffer from infertility due to endometriosis. Autoimmune diseases also cause great damage to fertility. Fertility is being ruined in men due to diabetes. Products taken in the gym to build muscles increase the risk of infertility.
