Walking- Walking slowly is the safest and easiest exercise for the heart. It strengthens the heart muscles and improves blood circulation.
Cycling- Light cycling is also safe for heart patients. It strengthens the leg muscles and improves heart health.
sum-Yoga and Pranayam not only provide mental peace but are also beneficial for heart health. It reduces stress and keeps blood pressure under control.
Swimming- Swimming is a good exercise for heart health. It tones the muscles of the entire body and increases the capacity of the heart.
Warm-up- It is important to warm up before exercise so that the muscles can be toned and there is no sudden pressure on the heart.
Cool-down- Cooling down after exercise helps the heart return to normal condition.
Season- When temperatures rise or fall, exercise indoors. Heart disease can affect your body’s ability to regulate cold and heat.

Such exercises will not only make heart patients physically healthy but will also benefit them mentally. Always keep in mind to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program.
What to keep an eye on
According to Dr. Khanna, if you are feeling unwell or have a fever, do not exercise too much in the gym. On the other hand, if you are experiencing a fast and irregular heartbeat while doing the gym, then stop your activity. Check your pulse after resting for 10 – 15 minutes. If it is still more than 100 beats per minute, then contact your doctor immediately. Drink plenty of water and take breaks in between while exercising. Do not be disappointed if you do not start seeing results in the initial days of exercise. Regular physical activity will gradually improve your health, even if you are suffering from heart disease.
Heart patients should be cautious while doing yoga
Heart patients should practice yoga with caution. They should avoid difficult and stressful postures and do light pranayama and yoga exercises. If you are a serious heart patient, avoid stress yoga and exercise. 30 to 45 minutes, five days a week is a minimum requirement for exercise. Doing more than this can provide more health benefits. Normal household chores or office activities are not considered sufficient for exercise.
