A search operation was launched by the Indian Army, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the police following the accident. According to officials, the Army’s Cheetah helicopter was on an operational sortie. Meanwhile, he lost contact with the air traffic controller. After which the helicopter was reported to have crashed near Mandla, west of Bomdila.
