Kanker. Police has arrested the youth while taking action under the IT Act for posting child porn on the Internet media site Instagram. The police produced the accused youth in the court, from where he has been sent to judicial custody.
Taking action, the Kanker police arrested accused Praveen Sahu (21) resident of Shivnagar Kanker, in connection with posting videos related to child porn on internet media. Police station in-charge Sharad Dubey said that the report was received through cyber tip line, in April 2021, the accused posted a video related to child porn in Instagram. After investigation on the report, on February 13, a crime was registered under the IT Act in Kanker police station and taken up for investigation. The accused youth was arrested in the case and presented before the court, from where he was sent to jail in judicial custody. The mobile used for posting the child has also been confiscated from the possession of the accused.
AC theft accused arrested
The AC installed on the roof of a clothes shop in the old bus stand of the city was stolen by an unknown thief two days ago. After which the cloth shop operator had lodged a report of theft in the police station. The accused was roaming around trying to break the AC of 45 thousand rupees and sell it in junk. On receiving the information, the police arrested the accused youth. Ashok Kesarwani, the operator of Manokamna Traders, located in the old bus stand of the city, had made a written complaint to the police station Kanker that on the night of February 21, the outer panel of the air conditioner, which was worth Rs 45000, installed on the roof of the shop. Which has been stolen by some unknown thief. On the complaint of the applicant, the police registered a crime against the unknown accused and started searching for the thief’s address. During the investigation, the police got information from the informer that Ravi Sarathi (26), a resident of MG Ward, was roaming around in the quest to sell stolen goods. On information, the police party reached the spot and interrogated Ravi Sarathi, who admitted to stealing the outer panel of the air conditioner by climbing into the terrace behind the cloth shop on the night of 21 February.
