Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested by ED in the alleged liquor scam case of Delhi. ED had got Arvind Kejriwal’s remand twice. Since then Arvind Kejriwal is in judicial custody in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. During the Lok Sabha elections, the Supreme Court had granted Arvind Kejriwal interim bail of 21 days for campaigning. On June 2, Arvind Kejriwal had to surrender in Tihar Jail again. During the hearing in Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday, ED claimed that it has evidence that Arvind Kejriwal demanded a bribe of Rs 100 crore from South Cartel involved in the liquor scam. Let us tell you that CBI had started the investigation in this case first. Later ED took up the investigation of money laundering.
ED has already claimed in the court that South Cartel gave Rs 100 crore as bribe to Aam Aadmi Party under the liquor scam. Out of this, Rs 45 crore was spent by Aam Aadmi Party in Goa assembly elections. ED has called Arvind Kejriwal the kingpin in the liquor scam case. Contrary to ED’s allegations, Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party say that the investigating agencies did not recover a single penny. They also say that there has been no liquor scam in Delhi.
