New Delhi. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody is ending today. He will be produced before Rouse Avenue Court once again. Now the question is whether Arvind Kejriwal will be able to get released from Tihar Jail? Only the court can answer this question right now, but from the current situation it seems that Arvind Kejriwal will not be able to come out of Tihar Jail right now.
Arvind Kejriwal was given 9 consecutive summons by ED in the liquor scam case. When ED first issued summons, Arvind Kejriwal told the investigating agency that he was busy campaigning in 5 states. Then when ED sent new summons, Arvind Kejriwal said that he was going to Punjab to do Vipassana and could not appear. After this, when ED sent the 9th summons to Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi CM told the court that if the investigating agency promises not to arrest him, then he can appear. On this, Delhi High Court refused to put any such condition. After which ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal is in Tihar Jail after being in ED remand twice. During the Lok Sabha elections, the Supreme Court did give him 21 days bail to campaign.
Arvind Kejriwal had also knocked the door of Delhi High Court for bail. There, Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma rejected his plea. Justice Sharma had said that the evidence provided by ED prima facie shows Arvind Kejriwal to be involved in the liquor scam. After this, Arvind Kejriwal approached the Supreme Court. It was said from there that Arvind Kejriwal can apply for bail in the trial court. The trial court has also not approved Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea at the moment. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are on whether Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyers will again apply for bail in Rouse Avenue Court or not. Let us tell you that ED has called Arvind Kejriwal the kingpin of the liquor scam. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal says that the investigating agency could not recover even a single penny related to the liquor scam. He calls himself innocent.
