New Delhi. A five-member medical board constituted on the instructions of a city court has suggested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to give low-dose insulin twice a day for the next five days in Tihar Jail. Official sources said on Thursday that the board will review Kejriwal’s health condition after five days. The board constituted by the Director of AIIMS includes an endocrinologist and a diabetes expert. Kejriwal was given his first dose of insulin on Monday evening, when his sugar level had increased to 217. This was done on the advice of AIIMS doctors.
Sources said that the medical board constituted the next day advised to continue the dosage for five days. He said he is being given low doses of insulin twice a day, before lunch and dinner. A Tihar jail official said, “Tihar doctors are monitoring Kejriwal’s health and he is being provided home-cooked food and other medicines prescribed by the doctors.”

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party had accused Kejriwal of a conspiracy to kill him in jail by not giving him insulin and other diabetes medicines. The Delhi Chief Minister was arrested by the ED on March 21 in a money-laundering case related to the now defunct excise policy of the Delhi government. He is lodged in Tihar Jail No. 2 since April 1.
