ASG S.V. Raju on behalf of ED said that Vinod Chauhan had taken Rs 25 crore from BRS leader Kavita’s PA through Abhishek Boinpalli for Goa elections. ED will file a prosecution complaint against Vinod Chauhan by the end of this month. Vinod Chauhan was arrested by ED in May. Let us tell you that ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 after 2 hours of interrogation. Since then Kejriwal is lodged in Tihar Jail in judicial custody. However, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail of 21 days to Kejriwal for the Lok Sabha election campaign. After the elections, Kejriwal surrendered on June 2. However, before the surrender date, Kejriwal demanded to extend his bail period but the court did not hear his petition.
Kejriwal had sought extension of interim bail citing his poor health. Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia is also lodged in Tihar Jail in the liquor policy scam. Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on 26 February 2023. AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also arrested by the ED in the same case, although he later got bail. Apart from these, many others including BRS leader K. Kavitha are also lodged in Tihar Jail in the same scam.
