New Delhi. In the Delhi liquor scam case, a call was made outside the court room of the special judge of Rouse Avenue on Tuesday. Arvind Kejriwal and Kavita should appear. After this, both the accused appeared in the court through video conferencing. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that the judicial custody period of 14 days has ended and after this the special judge gave the order.
The judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BRS leader K. Kavitha and others in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam case was extended till September 2 in a lower court on Tuesday.
Special Judge Kaveri Baveja extended the custody period of the accused after they were produced before the court through video conference on the expiry of their judicial custody period.
The Supreme Court had earlier granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the case. However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader is still lodged in Tihar Jail as he has not filled the bail bond in the case.
The Delhi Chief Minister is in judicial custody in a corruption case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with this alleged scam.
