On the first day of the tenure of PM Narendra Modi, who is ruling the country for the third time with a huge majority, Pakistan has created a big mess. On Sunday evening, while PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony was going on, terrorists attacked a bus of devotees going to Vaishno Devi in Reasi area of Jammu and Kashmir. 10 devotees died in this.
Trying to get noticed by the world
This incident is being seen as a direct challenge to PM Modi. Because PM Modi has invited the heads of state and government of neighboring countries Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, Seychelles, Mauritius in the swearing-in ceremony of his third term. Ambassadors and high commissioners of many countries also attended this ceremony. In such a situation, by carrying out such a terrorist incident, Pakistan-backed terrorists have challenged India’s reputation. For this swearing-in, strict security arrangements were made in the entire country including the capital Delhi. Through this, they want to send a message to the world that they are still active in Jammu and Kashmir and they have influence.
Modi government will remain strict
But, perhaps they have forgotten the last two tenures of PM Modi. In his second tenure, PM Modi made his government’s policy on Jammu and Kashmir ‘zero tolerance’. Security forces are eliminating terrorists in the valley one by one. After the terrorist attack in Pulwama before the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, the Modi government did not even refrain from carrying out surgical strikes on Pakistan. After this, the Indian government broke contact with Pakistan at every level. A full campaign was launched to isolate Pakistan on the international platform. Today, the effect of this campaign of PM Modi is also visible. Pakistan is on the verge of destruction. The back of terrorists in the valley has been broken. The biggest proof of this was the last Lok Sabha election. In this election, there was bumper voting in the seats of the valley. The fear of terrorists has ended among the people.
Pakistan not invited
PM Modi had invited seven neighbouring countries in his swearing-in ceremony but Pakistan’s name was not there in it. In this way he indicated that there will be no leniency in his stand on Pakistan even in his third term. But, today’s terrorist attack has left no scope for even zero percent change in this stand of PM Modi.
Relationships will deteriorate further
Actually, a few days ago, former Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif had publicly admitted that his army had stabbed India in the back in 1999. After his statement, the Indian Foreign Ministry also gave a very balanced statement. After this, some experts expressed the possibility that after Nawaz Sharif’s party comes to power in Pakistan, the ice in relations with India may melt a little. But, this terrorist incident has dashed all hopes.
Looking at the tough policy adopted by PM Modi towards Pakistan in his last two terms, it would not be wrong to say that he has messed with the wrong person and country at the wrong time. At this moment, the whole world is looking at India. In the political history of India, PM Modi has earned him the reputation of a global leader due to the formation of a government with a clear majority three times in a row.
