New Delhi. Encouraged by the release of senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia from jail after 17 months, the AAP has stepped up preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held next year. The party has organized meetings of workers in each constituency to prepare the outline of the election campaign. Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has been carrying out a padyatra campaign in the national capital since August 16 and meeting people. The AAP aims to take this campaign to all 70 assembly constituencies of the city.
In a statement, the ruling AAP in Delhi said that apart from Manish Sisodia’s padyatra, work is also going on to strengthen the organization. The party said that Sisodia has met party officials and prepared a strategy for the assembly elections. Sisodia, a confidant of jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, came out of jail on bail on August 9 after being imprisoned for 17 months in the excise policy case. His release from Tihar Jail has brought great relief to the party, which is struggling with the absence of its chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as well as senior leader Satyendra Jain.
‘The conspiracy failed due to the blessings of Lord Hanuman’, Manish Sisodia, who went on a padyatra, said – I came among you after 17 months
