With the start of land registration, the government is getting revenue worth crores of rupees every day and the area is rejoicing. The registration office of Purnia, which used to be deserted earlier, is once again bustling with activity. People are coming in large numbers to get their land registered.
District Assistant Registrar Nitish Kumar said that in February 2024, when the Patna High Court ordered that only the land whose jamabandi is established will be registered. After that the registration decreased significantly. The situation became such that in this quarter only Rs 19 crore revenue was received while in the previous quarter revenue of more than 38 crores was received. But, when the Supreme Court stayed the order of the High Court, then from May 18, the work of land registration has started on the old rule.
If we talk about the average, 90 documents are being registered every day. The government is getting a decent revenue from this. The President of the Document Writer Association and Vice President of Bihar, Rajeshwar Singh, said that after the High Court order, they had appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has currently put a stay. Due to this, a large number of lands are being registered. People are getting a lot of relief. The government is also getting revenue. Along with this, the document writers are also earning income.
Let us tell you, in between the situation was such that very few registrations were being done in the registry office. Rajeshwar Singh said that the Supreme Court will again hear this matter in September. Let us see what the decision is. Anyway, a large number of people still do not have their land records. Many people want to sell their land due to some important work. But, they were not able to sell it due to the new rules.
