All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi targeted the central government to detain Bengali-speaking Muslims. He accused the administration of incorrectly giving illegal immigration status to Bengali speaking Muslims. He alleged that the government is softening strict and powerful people with the poor.
‘Indian citizens are being sent to Bangladesh’
Hyderabad MP Owaisi, while posting on X, claimed that people who are being called illegal migrants are being targeted repeatedly as they have no means to oppose the barbarity of the police. He said, “The news of sending Indian citizens to Bangladesh at gunpoint is disturbing.”
Owaisi described police action as illegal
Asaduddin Owaisi claimed, “Bengali-speaking Muslim citizens are being illegally detained by the police in various parts of India and are being accused of being Bangladeshi. The accused are most poorest of those who are being accused of being illegal migrants. In these, the slums are the slums, domestic workers, domestic workers, domestic workers, are repeatedly targeted. The police are not in a position to oppose the atrocities. “
Asaduddin Owaisi in his post on social media also shared a picture of an official order of the District Magistrate’s Office, stating that the state government has implemented a standard operation process (SOP) for the return of Bangladeshi citizens and Rohingyas. Owaisi said, “The police do not just have the right to detain any person because he speaks a particular language. It is illegal to take people into custody in this way by the police.”
Owaisi’s statement came after the arrest of 5 women in Pune
The statement of AIMIM chief Owaisi came after the arrest of 5 Bangladeshi women by the police of Pune city on Wednesday (July 23, 2025). According to a report by the investigating agency ANI, officials of the Fraskhana Police Station and Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) raided on the basis of a special information.
These women between the ages of 20 to 28 were living in India without legitimate documents and fake identity cards. Investigation revealed that she had come illegally from Bangladesh to India and was allegedly living in Pune claiming to be a resident of West Bengal.
