The Assam Police on Saturday arrested five people. These people are accused of being associated with an organization outside Bangladesh that has links with Al Qaeda. These accused have been arrested from Howli, Barpeta and Kalagachia in Assam. Police is engaged in further investigation of the case. Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahant gave this information on Saturday. Mahant said that on the basis of an intelligence report shared by the special branch of the state police, Barpeta police have arrested five persons under Howalia and Kalagachia police stations. According to the police, the Bangladeshi national identified as Mohammad Suman alias Saiful Islam had inspired four others to commit jihadi work for AQIS in Barpeta.
