New Delhi. Mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf had illegally captured government land by manipulating documents, but now Ashraf’s in-laws have gone even further in fraud. In fact, Ashraf’s wife Zainab’s brother and head of the family had already taken possession of the Waqf Board land for the upliftment of Muslims. He even obtained permission to lease Waqf Board land by creating fake documents and managed to sell a part of it through connections with mafia in-laws. The “Operation Giraffe” team of Prayagraj Commissionerate conducted the investigation, which made shocking revelations. The police team in Operation Giraffe has copies of orders for fake registries and unauthorized leasing permits. He has handed over these documents to the Revenue Department and Waqf Board. The Revenue Department will soon take major action against these land mafias.
Ashraf’s in-laws were successful in getting Waqf property worth Rs 50 crores in their name. They conspired to shift and apart from building shops on rent, also sold a part of it. Besides, Zainab also built a luxurious mansion for herself on the Waqf Board land. However, when the police investigated the matter the truth came to light. Following the court order, the police demolished Zainab’s mansion. Based on the complaint of the property caretakers, the police registered a case against Zainab and her brothers. Now the demolition of Zainab’s mansion built on Waqf Board land is certain.
Underprivileged Muslim children depend on Waqf Board schools and madrassas for education. In villages like Bhirpur, Medwara and Sallapur, the Waqf Board owns several hectares of land, where it establishes schools, madrassas and hostels for the education of Muslim children. However, Ashraf’s in-laws not only exploited the rights of poor Muslim children but also sold a large portion of this land for their personal gains. As the investigation continues, Ashraf’s wife and his brothers may have to face more difficulties in the future.
