Khalistan is scaring the Hindu community
Gates tweeted a picture of the Hindu community after the attack on the temple. The community members along with the temple committee cleaned the anti-Hindu slogans from the walls. He tweeted, ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ along with a picture. “Khalistan supporters are terrorizing the Australian Hindu community and making practicing religion and going to temples a painful experience,” said a long-time resident of the suburb. This is the fourth incident of vandalism in Hindu temples in Australia in two months.
Continuous attacks on Hindu temples
Earlier on January 23, anti-Hindustan slogans were found written on the walls of the iconic ISKCON temple in Melbourne’s Albert Park. On January 16, the historic Shri Shiv Vishnu Temple in Carrom Downs, Victoria was similarly vandalised. On January 12, ‘anti-social elements’ wrote anti-India slogans at the Swaminarayan Temple in Melbourne. India has repeatedly condemned vandalism against Hindu temples in Australia and has taken up the issue with the Australian government.
