Austrian Ambassador to Ukraine, Oleksandr Sherba, shared a video related to this. In it, a translator can be heard translating Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech for Germany’s Welt Channel. On one occasion, when Zelensky says that things are not right for us, the translator stops in the middle. In the video, he can be heard crying and apologizing later.
What did the President of Ukraine say in the speech?
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russia should be thrown out of the UN Security Council for an attack on his country. Zelensky said in a video message on Sunday that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was a step towards genocide. “Russia has chosen the path of evil and the world should throw it out of the UN Security Council,” he said. Russia is one of the five permanent members of the Security Council, which gives it the power to veto resolutions.
Zelensky said the International War Crimes Tribunal should investigate Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities. He termed the Russian aggression as ‘state-sponsored terrorism’. He rubbished Russia’s claims that it was not targeting civilian areas.
