As soon as the voice came from the chair of the presiding officer at exactly 4.30 pm in the Lok Sabha – Shri Awadhesh Prasad, the entire House echoed with thunderous applause. All the MPs of the Samajwadi Party stood up from their chairs and started thumping the table to welcome Awadhesh Prasad, the MP from Faizabad. As soon as Awadhesh Prasad, who was sitting right next to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, got up from his chair, slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ started being raised. As he reached the dias near the chair of the presiding officer to take the oath, the slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ changed to ‘Jai Awadhesh’, ‘Jai Awadhesh’. Awadhesh Prasad also expressed his gratitude to everyone with folded hands.
After taking the oath, Awadhesh Prasad raised the copy of the Indian Constitution and shouted the slogan of Constitution Zindabad. After chanting Jai Constitution, he said- “Honourable Netaji Amar Rahe, Veerangana Udha Devi Amar Rahe, Maharaj Bijli Pasi Amar Rahe, Honorable Akhilesh Yadav Zindabad, PDA Zindabad, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Zindabad, his Constitution Zindabad”.
Awadhesh Prasad raised slogans of Zindabad for all Dalit leaders and senior leaders of Samajwadi Party, but did not raise the slogan of Jai Shri Ram. While talking to the media while entering the Parliament a day before, he said that he will work to establish the dignity of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram in the entire country while keeping his dignity intact. While he was going to take oath, slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ were also being raised, but Awadhesh Prasad himself was seen refraining from taking the name of Ram.
When the opposition accused you of living dishonestly, ‘Ram’ folded his hands and chanted Jai Awadhesh
Not only this, when Meerut MP Arun Govil was moving towards the presiding officer to take oath, slogans of ‘Jai Awadhesh-Jai Awadhesh’ were being raised.
Strong leader in Samajwadi Party
This time in the Lok Sabha elections, everyone’s eyes were on the Faizabad seat of Uttar Pradesh. Because the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency includes the city of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. After the inauguration of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Praan Pratishtha of Ram Lalla on January 22 this year, the atmosphere created in the country in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party, it seemed that this time the BJP would break all records of victory in the elections. But the election results on June 4 changed the picture. BJP had to face a crushing defeat in Uttar Pradesh and the most surprising result was that of the Faizabad seat. Here, Awadhesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party defeated the BJP candidate.
After Awadhesh Prasad’s victory from here, his stature increased in the Samajwadi Party. Yesterday on Monday, when all 37 MPs of the Samajwadi Party reached the Lok Sabha, Akhilesh Yadav kept his wife, brother and uncle behind and made Awadhesh Prasad stand with him and also made him sit on the seat next to him in the House. Akhilesh Yadav, through Awadhesh Prasad, succeeded in giving the message to the Dalits that the Dalits and non-Yadav community are also given full respect in the Samajwadi Party.
