Lucknow. With the completion of the Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the state government ministers to go among the public once again by giving the mantra of ‘dialogue, coordination and sensitivity’. However, both Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were not present in this meeting of ministers. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was in Delhi, while Brajesh Pathak was also out of town.
Keshav Prasad Maurya said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday, ‘Had an informal meeting with the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bihar unit and the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of the Bihar government Samrat Chaudhary ji at Uttar Pradesh Sadan in New Delhi and extended hearty congratulations and best wishes for the spectacular victory in Bihar in the Lok Sabha elections.’
Meanwhile, when contacted, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak told PTI, “I was out of Lucknow as I had to attend some programmes which were pre-scheduled.” A senior minister of the state government present in the meeting told PTI, “Both the Deputy Chief Ministers (Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak) did not attend the cabinet meeting due to their pre-scheduled programmes.” He said that the state’s Public Works Minister Jitin Prasad also attended the meeting.
According to a statement issued here, Chief Minister Yogi said in the meeting, “The government is for the people, public interest is paramount for us, in such a situation, the problems of the person standing at the last rung of the society, expectations and requirements should be resolved.” Yogi said, “Ministers should go to the area, communicate with the public with sensitivity and solve the problems by coordinating with local public representatives and the government-administration.”
According to a statement, in a special cabinet meeting on Saturday, the Chief Minister first congratulated the ministers who were elected as MPs and the formation of the government at the Centre for the third consecutive time under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister said, “The way development has gained momentum in Uttar Pradesh during the 10-year tenure of Prime Minister Modi, we will be successful in creating many new records in the coming five years.”
He said that all the honourable ministers should widely publicise the achievements of the central and state governments, increase their activity on social media and inform the public about the policies, decisions and positive results of the double engine government. The Chief Minister emphasised that whether it is the ministers or other public representatives, everyone will have to avoid the ‘VIP’ culture.
While discussing the future programs, he said that in the coming days, there are programs for massive plantation, School Chalo Abhiyan and communicable disease control, so everyone will have to make efforts for their success. The Chief Minister said, “The first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 is about to end. It should be ensured that all the departments spend the amount provided in the current budget appropriately. There is an expectation of acceleration in allocation and expenditure. Expenditure should also be reviewed at the department level. The concerned minister should review his departmental status.”
