Ayodhya. The four main gates of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh will be dedicated to the four major Jagadgurus of the great Sanatan tradition of the country. This nomenclature will make the memory of these great men a symbol of Indian philosophy, devotion and Vedanta tradition. The names of the four gates were decided in an important meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust on Saturday.
The meeting held at Maniramdas Cantonment was chaired by Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, in which 14 of the 15 trustees of the trust were attended. 11 trustees were present in the meeting, while Home Secretary Sanjay Prasad, Senior Advocate Keshav Parasharan and King Vilendra Mohan of Ayodhya royal family were connected through online. A post is still vacant.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, told reporters after the meeting that the four gates of the temple will be named Jagadguru Ramanandacharya, Jagadguru Madhvacharya, Jagadguru Shankaracharya, and Jagadguru Ramanujacharya respectively. These names symbolize the four pillars of Indian spirituality, who propagated Vedanta, devotion and knowledge in every corner of the country. Currently, the construction work of these gates is in progress. These include the gate in front of Birla Dharamshala, the gate in front of the Kshireshwar Mahadev Temple and the northern gate situated on the Ramkot locality.
Apart from the gates, the naming of other buildings of the temple complex is currently being considered.
Champat Rai also stated that the construction of the Sapta Mandap of the temple has been completed, and the installation of idols of Nishadraj, Shabri, Ahilya etc. along with the sages has also been completed. The reach of devotees to the Shri Ram Sabha Mandap on the first floor of the temple will be possible only when the work of railing and lift on the stairs there is completed.
He informed that the flag hoisting at the temple is proposed in the month of November, which will be held as a grand religious ritual. Along with this, construction works like the construction of Parkota (boundary wall) of the temple complex, an auditorium and pilgrimage area office are planned to be completed within the next one year.
This decision has come at a time when Ram temple construction work is moving towards its final stages, and crores of devotees from India and abroad are waiting for its inauguration. The naming of the four gates of the temple is not only important in terms of architecture, but it will become a strong medium to connect the entire country with its religious, philosophical and cultural heritage.
