This time in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP again remained empty handed in Tamil Nadu. But BJP remained in second place on 10 seats.Annamalai said that the defeat does not mean that Hindutva politics has been rejected.
New Delhi. The results of this Lok Sabha election have been quite surprising for the BJP. The Ram Mandir issue has been an electoral lifesaver for the BJP for the last 3 decades. The Ram Mandir was completed in January this year and was also formally inaugurated. Despite this, the BJP suffered heavy losses in Uttar Pradesh this time and the party even lost the seat of Faizabad, under which Ayodhya falls. This has created ideological confusion for the BJP. PM Narendra Modi has said many times before that the Ram Mandir was never an election issue. This issue is related to the faith of the people.
Along with PM Narendra Modi, all the big leaders of BJP talk about the politics of development in every election and focus on the issues related to it. This time BJP had made a big plan to increase its success in the southern states. Under this, a lot of emphasis was put on Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The party had high hopes from BJP’s firebrand state president K Annamalai in Tamil Nadu that he would be able to bring a big success to BJP in this southern state. But it was disappointed. The party could not manage to win even a single seat out of the 39 seats in the state.
Hindutva politics will continue
Even after such results, Annamalai clearly said that BJP not getting any seat does not mean that Hindutva politics has been rejected. We will introspect and find out what went wrong. He said that he is saddened by BJP not winning in Tamil Nadu. The results of Tamil Nadu do not reject Hindutva politics. However, BJP and its nationalism politics are struggling to make their place in Tamil Nadu. Even in 2014, when there was a Modi wave in the whole country, BJP did not get any special benefit in Tamil Nadu.

BJP got success in many ways
In 2014, the BJP won just one seat out of 39. Then Pon Radhakrishnan won from Kanyakumari. In 2019, the BJP faced a crushing defeat. It did not get a single seat and the vote share fell to 3.6 percent. Ahead of the 2024 elections, PM Narendra Modi made about a dozen visits to Tamil Nadu and neighboring Kerala. However, this high-profile election campaign failed to win seats. The BJP remained empty-handed in Tamil Nadu for the second consecutive election. But it also got success in many ways. It stood second in 10 seats and its vote share including allies increased to 10.24 percent.
