The first parliamentary session of the 18th Lok Sabha has started on Monday. After winning the Lok Sabha elections 2024, all the MPs reached Parliament for the first time. During this, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected MPs took place. After this, all the MPs have become official members of Parliament. The picture that has come out from the opposition during the live broadcast has expressed without saying that even after 10 years, but this time the presence of the opposition will be strong in the Parliament.
What message does Akhilesh want to give?
The picture was of the sitting arrangement of the opposition leaders. The special thing was that like the UP assembly, in the Lok Sabha too, Awadhesh Prasad was seen sitting next to Akhilesh. Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad were some of the prominent leaders who were sitting in the front line (first row) in the Lok Sabha. Political experts say that by giving so much importance to Awadhesh Prasad, Akhilesh Prasad has given a big political message. Actually, Awadhesh is that ‘Ayodhya’ of BJP, whose defeat is the biggest thorn for the saffron party and somewhere he has tried to capitalize on the embarrassment BJP faced in Ayodhya.
Awadhesh Prasad was seen sitting next to Akhilesh
This was about sitting in front of Avadhesh Prasad. Now we will tell you who decides these seats for the MPs and on what basis are these decided? Or do the MPs take any seat according to their choice? If you also do not know, then read the answers to all such questions here-
Which MP sits where in the Parliament?
- Which MP will sit where in the Parliament is decided in advance. During the session, MPs sit on their seats only.
- The number of seats any MP gets in the Parliament is determined by the number of MPs in his party. The number of MPs a party has is the number of seats the MPs get.
- There are several blocks for sitting in the Parliament and the blocks are decided based on the number of party members.
- If a party has more than 5 MPs then there is a different arrangement for them.
- There is a separate arrangement for those MPs who have less than 5 MPs. After this, independent MPs are given a place.
The distribution of seats is done on the basis of the ruling party and the opposition
The first division in the House is done on the basis of the ruling party and the opposition. In the front blocks, the ruling party sits on the right hand side of the speaker and the opposition has its seat on the left hand side. Apart from this, a seat is fixed for the deputy speaker on the left side and the opposition floor leader sits next to him. After this, the blocks are divided on the basis of the number of MPs on the left side. Like this time, BJP MPs will sit on the front right side and Congress MPs on the left side. After this, parties with less MPs get place in the upper blocks. The party which has more MPs gets that much front row.
Who decides the seat?
The decision of which party’s MPs will sit on which seat is taken by the Speaker of the House. Under Direction 122(a), the Speaker allots a seat to each MP and the MP has to sit on the seat accordingly. However, the seat sharing arrangement is changed for some senior MPs keeping in mind their health and other things.
