The country’s two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto is gradually expanding the reach of its retro Chetak electric scooter in the Indian market, let us tell you, this scooter is already available in cities like Pune and Bangalore, although it is yet to be available in some other major Indian markets. Not available in cities, but now the company has recently listed Mumbai on its official website, which indicates that this scooter may be launched in this city soon.
At the same time, the official website states that the electric scooter will be made available through the company’s two outlets – KTM Andheri and KTM Vasai. It can be guessed from the fact that the company has opened the window for this scooter to register the interest of the potential customers.
Variants, Speed and Driving Range
The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is currently available in two variants, Urban and Premium. Both the variants are powered by a 3.8kW motor that is equipped with a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. And as per the official claims, the scooter is capable of delivering a top speed of 70 kmph.
Talking about the driving range, this scooter is capable of giving a range of 95 km in Eco mode. Meanwhile, the company is also planning to add one more electric scooter to the portfolio. Which was recently seen during testing.
The 2022 Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will be more affordable than the current model. Because high level of localization helps in reducing production cost. Bajaj, on the other hand, could benefit from the low price, as there is stiff competition in the electric scooter space, and there are many products in the market that are not only cheaper, but also boast of better performance and range.
