Balasore. The father of a student who tried self -immolation at FM (Autonomous) College in Balasore in Odisha has accused a faculty member of the college of mentally torturing the daughter for a long time.
The father while talking to said that my daughter was mentally tortured. He told us that he was being harassed again and again. He was called in closed rooms, threatened and humiliated in front of teachers. What must have happened that forced him to take such a big step? There was definitely something serious inside that college room.
The father also claimed that other girl students also faced similar harassment from the same teacher. He said that two other students have also complained against the teacher. Officials have several complaints. Nevertheless, no strict disciplinary action was taken.
The father said which justice will make him as before? I want a strict punishment for those responsible, so that no other parents have to bear all that we are facing now.
He appealed to the government and said that we demand justice. The Chief Minister, Education Minister and Union Minister have visited, we want immediate and strict action. There should be a change in the system so that our daughters are safe in educational institutions.
Let us know that the seriously scorched girl is currently in intensive care in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. A special medical team has been formed to monitor his treatment. The state government has suspended the accused professor and a high-level investigation into the incident has been started.
