Bharatpur The Baldev Chhatta Festival was celebrated with great pomp today at Shri Dauji Maharaj Temple at Basan Gate. The festival was organized under the aegis of Shri Dauji Maharaj Vikas Trust of the temple, which included Abhishek, Bhajan-Sankirtan, Phool Bungalow decoration and special lighting. Trust president Gopilal Agarwal and convenor Kailash Mittal said that the tradition of celebrating Baldev Chhattisgarh in the temple is very old. On this occasion, Dau Baba and Revathi Maiya were anointed with Panchamrit in the morning. He was then dressed in a new dress with pearls and he was adorned with jewelery and flowers.
Devotees cheered Dau Baba and Maiya Revathi. At 12:15 in the afternoon, Maharati was performed with the sound of band-instruments, jhaler, hours and Shankhanad, which was performed by Pandit Sonu by law. On this occasion, Sri Shree Alok Krishna Goswami, who came from Vrindavan, described the glory of Lord Balarama with her discourse.
After the festival, food was organized at Shri Agrawal Bhavan, in which Kheer, Pua, Bedai and vegetable were offered. About 1,500 devotees received food. Many dignitaries including former MLA Vijay Bansal and former Mayor Shiv Singh Bhont were present in Prasadi distribution and Mahaarti.
