The matter of ban imposed by the Central Government on the broadcast of a Malayalam news channel from Kerala has reached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a notice to the Central Government in this matter and sought its response.
Malayalam news channel ‘MediaOne’ has challenged the order of the Kerala High Court in the Supreme Court. The High Court has upheld the decision of the Central Government to ban. The center has banned the broadcast of this channel citing security reasons. A bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud sought the Centre’s response. Justice Surya Kant and Justice Vikram Nath are also included in this bench.
