Smugglers are always trying to cross the border and enter India. A similar case came to light on Wednesday early morning. A female constable of BSF single-handedly took on the intruders.

BSF said that Bangladeshi intruders attacked a BSF woman constable on the India-Bangladesh border in Nadia district of West Bengal. The woman constable had to fire in self-defense. According to the information, in the early hours of Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the constable saw 13 to 14 Bangladeshi intruders coming near the border fence in Ranaghat area of ​​the district. All the intruders were armed with knives and swords. They were trying to enter India from Bangladesh.

After seeing the intruders, the BSF woman constable challenged them. BSF issued a statement saying that the woman constable ran towards the intruders and challenged them and warned them. Despite this, the intruders forcefully entered the Indian territory and surrounded the woman constable. The intruders attacked her. At the same time, another BSF soldier reached the spot. During this time, a grenade was also thrown by the intruders. However, the grenade did not explode. To stop the illegal crossing and in self-defense, the constable fired one round at the intruders.

Seeing the aggressive stance of the BSF jawans, all the intruders took advantage of the darkness and the forest and fled towards Bangladesh. In a statement issued by the BSF, it has been said that the possibility of any intruder getting injured due to the firing cannot be ruled out. On Tuesday also, some people from the neighboring country started gathering on the Bangladesh border. These people wanted to try to enter the Indian border near the Madhubana border post of Murshidabad district. The patrol team of BSF jawans noticed them. Before the jawans could order them to stop, these Bangladeshis attacked the BSF jawans. The Indian security forces immediately responded to this. All the Bangladeshis fled into the forests.
