After Sheikh Hasina fled from Bangladesh, the situation there is getting worse. Minorities, especially Hindus, are being attacked. All limits of cruelty are being crossed with their sisters and daughters. They are being targeted. They cannot escape from Bangladesh and go anywhere. For the last four days, lakhs of Hindu community people have been protesting in Dhaka. They are demanding their safety. All this is proof of the fact that people suffering due to religious persecution in India’s neighboring countries should have a safe place. India talks about Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA for such people.
The protest in Bangladesh started under the leadership of students. The demand was to end reservation, but it took a horrifying turn when the opposition party of Bangladesh and the fundamentalist group Jamaat-e-Islami joined them. As a result, they started achieving their goal and attacks started being made targeting Hindus. Targeted killings have been done. Even now, such an atmosphere of fear has been created that many Hindu families do not want to return to their homes. According to the report of Dhaka Tribune, the Hindus protesting in Dhaka are demanding that they should be protected. They should be given protection by the army.
Know the agenda of Jamaat-e-Islami
Jamaat-e-Islami has overtaken the largest opposition party, Bangladesh Nationalist Party, in this race. The disturbing thing is that Jamaat-e-Islami has an alliance with the forces that oppose the very existence of Bangladesh. It has been opposing the creation of a separate country since before the independence of Bangladesh. Even when the Bangladesh Liberation War was going on, it supported the Pakistan Army. It is proudly written on its website that it wants Islamic law and system to be implemented. This is its mission.
Waving Taliban flags…
The waving of Taliban flags during the Bangladesh protests is a clear proof of the inclination of Jamaat-e-Islami. Their agenda includes the same things that the Taliban has been saying. There are clear similarities between the two. If their power increases further in Bangladesh, then the social fabric of Bangladesh will definitely break. Many types of dangers will arise. Attacks on minorities will increase. Muhammad Yunus has taken over as the interim head of state in Bangladesh. But it will not be easy for him to control Jamaat-e-Islami. Political and communal tensions will have to be dealt with. The future of Bangladesh will also have to be saved.
what does CAA say
India’s amended citizenship law says that if Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians have come to India due to persecution, they will be given asylum. They only have to prove that they have come from Pakistan, Afghanistan or Bangladesh. This law has been brought for those who have come to India on or before 31 December 2014. Till now, people are being given citizenship under this law. In such a situation, there may be a demand to include Hindus coming from Bangladesh in it.
