Bangladesh Shaheed Memorial Complex Destroyed: The kind of situation that is being seen after the coup in Bangladesh is very frightening as well as shocking. Chaos in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, miscreants have vandalised many statues present at the 1971 Martyrs Memorial site in Mujibnagar. During this, the memorial which showed Pakistan surrendering to the Indian Army in the 1971 war was also destroyed. This moment of 1971 was historic for Bangladesh, it is the date of their independence. The 1971 war not only liberated Bangladesh but also ended the atrocities being committed on Bangladeshis by Pakistan.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed concern
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has expressed concern over such incidents happening in Bangladesh. Shashi Tharoor posted on the social media platform (X), “Statues installed in the 1971 Shaheed Memorial Complex in Mujibnagar have been vandalised by anti-India miscreants. This incident comes after the despicable attacks on Indian cultural centres, temples and Hindu homes in several places, while there have also been reports of Muslim citizens protecting the homes and places of worship of other minorities.”
Shashi Tharoor further wrote, “The agenda of some agitators is very clear. It is imperative that Mohammad Yunus and his interim government take immediate steps to restore law and order in the interest of all Bangladeshis, people of every religion. India stands with the people of Bangladesh in this turbulent time, but such anarchy can never be tolerated.”
historical monument destroyed
Let us tell you that, in the historical monument that has been demolished in Bangladesh, Major General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi of the Pakistani Army was shown surrendering. Niazi had signed the surrender document in front of the Indian Army and the Mukti Bahini of Bangladesh. Niazi surrendered along with 93 thousand soldiers in front of the then General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of India’s Eastern Command, Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Arora.
