Team India New Head Coach: The last assignment of Team India head coach Rahul Dravid will be T20 World Cup 2024. In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has invited applications for the post of head coach of the senior men’s team. The last date to apply for the post of head coach is 27th May. Let us tell you that BCCI had informally approached a veteran for the post of the next Indian head coach. This veteran is currently associated with a team in IPL.
BCCI contacted this veteran for the post of head coach
Australian batting great Ricky Ponting has revealed that he was approached for the soon-to-be vacant post of India head coach but he has rejected the offer. He believes it doesn’t fit into his lifestyle right now. Ponting, who recently completed seven seasons as the head coach of the Delhi Capitals IPL franchise, has previously been Australia’s interim T20 coach. He did not say whether any suggestion had come from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the post of Indian coach or not.
Ricky Ponting gave a big statement
Ricky Ponting told the ICC that there were some face-to-face conversations during the IPL to find out if I was interested in this position or not. He said that I would love to become the senior coach of the national team but there are other things in my life and I want to spend some time at home. Everyone knows that if you work with the Indian team, you cannot join the IPL team. Apart from this, the national head coach is a job of 10 or 11 months a year, and I do not want to do it, it does not fit into my lifestyle right now and the things that I really like to do.
Ponting further said that he discussed the proposal with his son and he seemed ready to come to India. He said that my family and my children have spent the last five weeks with me in the IPL and they come here every year and I told my son about it. I said dad has been offered the job of Indian coach and he said just accept it dad, we would love to go there for the next few years. How much they love living there and the culture of cricket in India but right now it probably doesn’t fit into my lifestyle completely.
BCCI’s conditions for becoming the head coach of Team India
