Thiruvananthapuram. Just before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, once again various rumors are being spread about EVMs. From the Central Government to the Election Commission and the State Government are taking a tough stance on this. One such case came to light in Kerala, where a young man was spreading a different kind of rumor through social media. He says that the government will impose a three-week lockdown in the country before the Lok Sabha elections to prevent tampering of EVMs. Kerala Police has arrested this young man.
The arrested accused has been identified as MV Sharafuddin. According to Kerala Police, social media is being closely monitored in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In this episode, the investigation team’s attention fell on a user named MV Sharafuddin. This person is a resident of Malappuram district of Kerala. Police said that as part of his propaganda, he allegedly shared a screenshot of a news published during the lockdown due to Corona virus on social media.

Police are alert due to elections
Elections are to be held in Kerala on 26 April. The statement said that this was discovered during a social media surveillance conducted by the Kochi Cyberdome branch of Kerala Police. It has been said that in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha, Social Media Monitoring Cell has been formed in Cyber Police Headquarters, all ranges and all police districts under the leadership of Cyber Division to detect those posting and spreading false news on social media.
