New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra, in an exclusive conversation with India TV, has expressed his desire to contest the elections in a few gestures. Vadra has said that people want him to enter politics. In an exclusive conversation with India TV correspondent Dinesh Maurya, Vadra said that he gets requests to contest elections from many areas across the country. He said that he is a member of Gandhi Nehru family, hence it is difficult to stay away from politics. However, Robert Badra also said during the conversation that he wants Priyanka Gandhi to reach Parliament first, only then her turn will come.
‘A lot of requests were coming from Telangana also’
Robert Vadra said that he has done a lot of work on the ground since 1999. He said, ‘People wish that I enter politics. Be it state or central elections, they feel that I need to enter politics. Being a member of the Gandhi family, it is very difficult to stay away from politics. Demand is coming from many places. I am from Moradabad, so the people there want me to represent Moradabad but I have worked a lot in Amethi, Rae Bareli, Jagdishpur and Sultanpur since 1999. If I talk about South, a lot of requests were coming for Priyanka and me from Telangana.
‘My posters are being put up everywhere’
Robert Vadra further said, ‘People have seen my hard work, so wherever I go, people want me to represent them. My posters start being put up everywhere. When I go to any political event, people from different parties say that I am late in entering politics. They say I should enter politics. They even say that if not from Congress then come from our own party. On the question of contesting from Amethi, Robert Vadra said that he is ready to contest elections against everyone, be it Smriti Irani or anyone else.
