When it comes to electric scooters in India, people have a plethora of options. While some automakers registered their entry in this segment, some giants attracted people with their vehicles. The first scooter on our list is the country’s popular Ola Electric Scooter, this scooter is currently being sold at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 1.10 Lakh. The Ola S1 and S1 Pro use a 2.98kWh or 3.97kWh lithium-ion battery pack with 8.5kW of peak power and 58Nm of peak torque.
The company claims that these scooters S1 and S1 Pro are capable of delivering a driving range of 121km and 181km respectively on a single charge. In terms of charging, the Ola e-scooter can be charged from the home charger in 4 hours, 48 minutes, while the S1 Pro can be charged in 6.5 hours. In addition, Ola’s Hypercharger network is capable of delivering a range of 75 km for 18 minutes of charging.
Ather 450X
Another option available in the Indian market is the electric scooter Ather 450X, with prices starting at Rs. 1.27 lakhs. The Ather 450X has four ride modes – Eco, Ride, Sport and Wrap. The (Ather 450) is equipped with a 3.3kW motor, which churns out 6kW (8.04bhp) of power and 26Nm of peak output. The Ather 450X claims that the scooter is capable of delivering a range of 85 km in Eco mode and 70 km in Ride mode. Notably, the Ather 450X takes just 3.41 seconds to accelerate from 0-40kmph in a wrap turn.
