New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a road show in South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, May 11, after coming out of Tihar Jail. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was also seen with him. During this, Kejriwal was seen telling the people that it is with the blessings of the mothers, sisters and elders of Delhi that today I am among you and campaigning. When I was in jail, Bhagwant Mann and my wife Sunita used to come to meet me, then these people used to ask about my well-being. Then I used to ask how are my Delhiites? The facilities provided to them are working properly, right?
It is known that this is Kejriwal’s first road show for the Lok Sabha election campaign. Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers participated in large numbers in the road show. During this, Kejriwal and Mann, riding on a vehicle with open roof, greeted the people by waving hands. AAP volunteers carrying party flags raised slogans in support of the party candidate from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Sahi Ram Pehalwan.
Kejriwal said in the road show that when they arrested me, I thought what was my crime? My crime is that I built good schools, mohalla clinics and government schools for the people of Delhi. My only crime is that I provided 24-hour electricity to the people of Delhi and I was arrested for this crime. I gave free medicines and treatment in hospitals to the people of Delhi but in Tihar these people stopped my medicine.
On Friday, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1 in the money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam. Earlier, Kejriwal said he would campaign across the country to fight against ‘dictatorship’. He will also take part in a road show in East Delhi constituency in support of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kuldeep Kumar.
