New Delhi. Is Bhojshala located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh a Hindu temple or an Islamic religious place? To resolve this dispute, an ASI survey of Bhojshala is currently being conducted on the orders of Madhya Pradesh High Court. ASI archaeologists have been surveying Bhojshala for the last 3 days. Amidst this survey, renowned archaeologist KK Mohammad has said that the Bhojshala in Dhar district about which there is a dispute between Hindu and Muslim sides, was the temple of Goddess Saraswati.
KK Mohammad has said that this temple was later converted into an Islamic religious place. Let us tell you that Muslims call Bhojshala as Kamal Maula Masjid. Archaeologist KK Mohammad said that Hindu and Muslim parties should accept the court’s decision in this matter and should also hold talks to resolve their differences on such disputed places. He also advised to follow the Places of Worship Act enacted in 1991. According to ABP News, KK Mohammad advised Muslims to respect the sentiments of Hindus on the issues of Kashi and Mathura. The archaeologist said that the historical fact about Bhojshala is that it was a Saraswati temple.
KK Mohammad said that later the banquet hall was converted into a mosque. He said that according to the Places of Worship Act, the base year of the religious place is 1947. If it was a temple in 1947, then it is a temple and if it was a mosque, then it is a mosque. Regarding Bhojshala, the Hindu side claims that it was built during the era of Raja Bhoj. Regarding this, the Hindu side also claims that the statue of Goddess Saraswati which was in the Bhojshala, was taken away by the British with them and kept in the Museum of London. KK Mohammad had also said that there was an ancient temple beneath the Babri structure. He used to work in ASI.
