Faridabad. A major accident occurred during the construction work on Thursday at the Old railway station in Faridabad. Four laborers were buried in it due to the sudden sinking of mud. Two women laborers died on the spot in the accident, while a woman and a male laborer were seriously injured. The injured are being treated at Badshah Khan Civil Hospital.
According to the information received, all the workers were doing construction work in the premises of the railway station. During the work, they were resting by sitting near a pile of mud on the site for a while. Meanwhile, a large part of the soil suddenly collapsed and the four laborers were buried under it. The rescue operation was carried out with the help of local people and police, but by the time all the workers were taken out, two women laborers had lost their lives.
The injured were immediately sent to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital via ambulance, where they are undergoing treatment. According to hospital sources, the condition of both the injured remains critical.
Police reached the spot after the accident investigated the spot. Initially, the negligence of the contractor is coming out. No security equipment was provided to the workers. Women and injured laborers who lost their lives in the accident are from Bihar and West Bengal.
Rajpal, GRP in -charge of Old Railway Station Police Station, said, “All these laborers were engaged in construction work. Suddenly the accident occurred. Two women laborers have died and two people are injured. The investigation is on, the role of the contractor will also be investigated and if negligence is found, strict action will be taken on it.”
The bodies of the deceased women have been taken into possession and sent for postmortem. The police has started the process of registering a case regarding the accident.
