Amritsar. Amritsar Rural Police in Punjab on Thursday achieved great success under the ‘War against Drugs’ launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Police have recovered a total of 4.544 kg of heroin and charas in various cases. Also, seven accused have been arrested. Giving information about the case, SSP Dehati Maninder Singh said that the police took this major action against the drug under special operation. The police have also recovered six mobile phones and a vehicle from the accused.
The Gharinda police station and his team stopped a suspected vehicle during the blockade in village More, Chowk Ada Gharinda, in which three youths were riding. During interrogation, these youths named their names Harpreet Singh alias Honey, Jashandeep Singh alias Jashan and Akashdeep Singh alias Akash. Three kilograms of heroin were recovered from him during the search. The police arrested the three youths and also seized a car from them.
In another case, the Ramdas police station arrested four accused during patrolling near a constant bridge of village Kuraralia. The arrested accused include Gurpreet alias Gopi, Rajan alias Laddi, Bhagwan Singh and Rupinder Singh alias Rupa. One kilogram of 544 grams of heroin and six mobile phones were recovered from these accused.
Amritsar Rural Police has also succeeded in the case of firing in Mahal village. Allegedly, Jeevan Fauji, who was allegedly sitting abroad, fired his colleagues at the owner of the village named Grocery Store. Police arrested two youths in this case. One of these accused, Arshdeep Singh, was trying to escape to escape from the police, after which he tried to shoot at the police. In retaliation, the police shot him, causing him to be seriously injured. The accused was rushed to the hospital for treatment and the police also recovered his pistol.
SSP Maninder Singh said that all the accused will be produced in court and their remand will be achieved. There is a possibility of more important revelations during remand. The police also clarified that they would find out from where the accused brought these drugs and where they were supplied.
