Angul (Odisha): Amidst the Lok Sabha elections, many leaders and workers of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha have joined BJP. These leaders joined BJP in the presence of Union Minister and BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Sambalpur Dharmendra Pradhan.
Odisha moving towards change: Dharmendra Pradhan
On this occasion, Dharmendra Pradhan said that people’s confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased, hence members and leaders of other parties are joining BJP. He said- “Orissa has moved towards change and hence people from BJD and other parties are joining BJP because people’s confidence in PM Modi is increasing. Since local leadership is no longer ‘local’, back door “People are upset with those who did not work for the development of the state but indulged in corruption,” the Union Minister said.
Dharmendra Pradhan contesting elections after a gap of 15 years
Pradhan also visited Pallahara assembly constituency during his election campaign. During this time he also went to a tea shop, drank tea and talked to the local people. Let us inform that BJP candidate Dharmendra Pradhan is contesting elections from Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency after a gap of 15 years. Voting is to be held in Sambalpur on 25th May.
Lok Sabha elections will be held in four phases in Odisha
Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Odisha will be held simultaneously in four phases, the first phase on May 13, the second phase on May 20, the third phase on May 25 and the last phase on June 1. The results of the elections will be declared on June 4. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) got the highest number of seats, followed by BJP and Congress. BJD won 12 seats, BJP came second with 8 seats and Congress got only one seat. (ANI)
